Flash animation does not play a big part in the design and development of websites at v2Media. Because our primary focus is on developing websites with built-in SEO, Flash takes a back seat performing non-essential tasks such as slide shows, or page flipping catalogues. Search engines do not support Flash, so the content that's contained in Flash animations cannot be indexed by the search engine websites. Google has worked hard to support Flash content, but at this stage, that support is only partial at best.

Because Flash requires Javascript to detect the version of the Flash plug-in to play animations, website visitors will not see the animations if Javascript is disabled. In order to maintain a base-line of functionality, v2Media will not use Flash for navigation menus, text content display, nor any other essential task that a website needs in order to function.

Despite our stance on Flash content, many customers want it so it would be a liability for v2Media to not include Flash design and development in our website services. Both of our developers are capable Flash developers as their skills are required for off-line Flash solutions.

Flash Development for Off-line Solutions at v2Media

v2Media has helped medium to large companies with Flash solutions for off-line use. In the context of off-line use, Flash is an amazingly flexible platform. Flash is well suited to CD-DVD publishing, intranet applications, slide presentations and kiosk touch screen applications.

The most exciting project that v2Media was proud to be a part of was the Stopol auction systems design and development. v2Media assisted in the development of Stopol's live on-line auction system and developed an off-line auction lot presenter for use on the auction floor via data projector.

Unfortunately the recent recession in the USA hit Stopol hard and the original website with the online live auction systems were axed to reduce overheads. The current Stopol website is a shadow of its former self.
